CGA – 2019 Year in Review

January 26, 2020

As we enter the New Year, it’s worth pausing to reflect on what the Compressed Gas Association has accomplished over the last year. As an organization focused on safety, CGA’s success is measured by how we learn from industry’s experiences in order to become safer, and how we communicate those learnings to people who come in contact with our products so that they too become safer.

By this measure, 2019 was a very good year.  For example:

  • The CGA Board expanded the association’s scope to provide safety information to include the end users of our industry’s products. Previously we were primarily focused on industry safety. To that end, we launched a series of easy-to-understand posters that provide basic safety considerations for end users.  New posters are released and distributed on a quarterly basis.
  • CGA and GAWDA expanded our “subscriber program” so that 91 GAWDA distributors now have access to the complete library of CGA standards and publications. These companies and their hundreds of employees have access to the most sophisticated and up-to-date safety information available in the world.
  • CGA released 77 safety publications in 2019, our most productive year on record. All told, CGA now has 348 industry publications with critical safety information supporting our industry’s ability to self-regulate.

These are just a few of our successes. You can learn more about what we’ve accomplished this past year in our infographic below, 2019 Year in Review.  I hope you agree we’ve had a productive year.  To all our members, we wish to say, thank you for your participation in CGA. And thank you for your ongoing support so that we can continue to do good things in the year – and the decade – ahead.
