CGA Webinar:

Mastering the Unique Challenges of Acetylene Piping

Wednesday, September 18, 2019

2:00 – 3:00PM Eastern

(11AM Pacific; 12PM Mountain; 1PM Central)

Presented by:
Robert Stauder, Area Manager, Linde Gas North America

August 21, 2019

Due to acetylene’s flammability, piping in acetylene service poses greater challenges compared to piping for some other compressed gases, such as nitrogen. When dealing with acetylene, you want to be sure that your piping systems will safely contain the gas in order to avoid an acetylene release, which can be extremely dangerous.

In this webinar hosted by the Compressed Gas Association, Robert Stauder with Linde Gas will provide an overview of acetylene properties that are relevant to piping design. He’ll also review which materials are prohibited for use for acetylene piping up to 400 psi, and which are acceptable. Finally, Robert will cover basic installation and maintenance recommendations.

All employees who work for CGA member companies may participate in this webinar for free.

Attend this webinar to learn:

  • How to select piping materials that are least affected by acetylene

  • How to design piping for accelerated pressures

  • How to maintain piping and components

  • Where to find more details in CGA’s library of safety standards

“When dealing with acetylene, you want to be sure that your piping systems will safely contain the gas in order to avoid an acetylene release, which can be extremely dangerous.”

Audience level:
