Compressed Gas Association Announces New Promotions and Key Hire
The Compressed Gas Association (CGA) is pleased to announce a series of promotions and a key hire that will enhance our leadership team and strengthen our commitment to delivering exceptional value to our members.
Laura Brumsey Promoted to Senior Vice President
Laura Brumsey has been promoted to Senior Vice President. In this role, she will work closely with the President & CEO, Vice President of Technical & Regulatory Affairs, and the Board of Directors to provide strategic direction and leadership for the CGA. Laura joined CGA in 2008 as a Committee Administrator and has since held various positions, including Manager of Standards Operations, Director of Operations and Administration, and Vice President of Operations and Administration. Her promotion to Senior Vice President in 2024 reflects her dedication to the organization and her contributions over the years.
Laura is a passionate advocate for engaging young and emerging professionals in CGA activities and is committed to continuously improving CGA’s member benefit programs, work processes, and technology platforms. Outside of her work with CGA, Laura serves on the Board of Directors for the Society for Standardization Professionals (SES) and actively participates in American National Standards Institute (ANSI) programs.
Laura holds both BS and MS degrees in Consumer Science from Virginia Tech and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE). She resides in Sterling, Virginia.
Christina Hartz Promoted to Standards and Committees Project Manager
Christina Hartz has been promoted from Committee Administrator to Standards and Committees Project Manager. Since joining CGA in January 2020, Christina has worked closely with several technical committees and has played a key role in managing the development of CGA’s webinar programming.
Before joining CGA, Christina spent a decade as a Senior Client Manager for an association management company, supporting nonprofit clients in various capacities, including membership management, communications, and event planning. Her diverse background fueled her passion for enhancing member engagement within associations.
Christina holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Florida and is an alumna of the Leadership Fauquier program. She has also been actively involved in various leadership and volunteer roles within her community. Christina resides in Warrenton, Virginia.
Dane Mallon Hired as Committee Administrator
CGA is excited to welcome Dane Mallon as our new Committee Administrator. Dane joined CGA in September 2024, bringing a diverse range of experiences that will support our standards and committee operations. Before joining CGA, Dane worked at the University of Maryland’s Mckeldin Library, where he gained valuable skills in administration and patron support, enhancing his ability to manage daily interactions and technical requests.
Dane’s background includes internships at the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Department of Justice, where he developed comprehensive policy knowledge and honed his skills in research, correspondence, and legislative support. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Maryland.
