We look forward to welcoming you to the 2022 CGA Canada Annual Meeting (September 13-14, 2022 at Hotel Manoir Victoria in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada), as members of the Compressed Gas Association come back together for our first in-person CGA Canada Annual Meeting since 2019!

We’re excited to welcome everyone to the 2022 CGA Canada Annual Meeting and are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all participants and staff. In line with this goal, we have adopted preventative measures to reduce the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus at our events in accordance with guidance provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. We will meet as safely as we can, implementing COVID-19 safety protocols wherever possible.

All in-person attendees must agree to 2022 CGA Canada Annual Meeting Policies (as of 10 Jun 2022) and the Event Attendee Waiver and Release Regarding COVID-19 when registering.

Overview

Everyone attending meetings or events scheduled in conjunction with the 2022 CGA Canada Annual Meeting must register for the meeting and pay any applicable fees. Please remember to RSVP through your CGA personal page for specific committee meetings you plan to attend. An RSVP to a committee meeting does not automatically register you for this event.

Early registration and hotel reservation deadline: August 15, 2022

CGA Member Registration: $0 for registrations received by August 15, 2022

There is no meeting registration fee for members registering by the early registration deadline.

Registration includes access to all meetings (except those marked “committee members only”) and the following group meals held at the meeting hotel: lunch and the banquet on Tuesday; and breakfast with Annual Meeting of the Members  on Wednesday.

After the deadline, a meeting registration fee of $200 (USD) will apply. The late registration fee will be assessed if a person attends a committee meeting and does not register.

Spouse/Significant Other Registration

A registration fee is applicable for your spouse, significant other, or partner to attend the banquet on Tuesday. This $125 (USD) fee covers the estimated food and beverage cost for the function.

This registration category may be added at the end of your registration for a spouse, significant other, or partner who is not in an industry-related occupation. A significant other who works within the industry for a CGA member company may register as a member.

Cancellation/Changes Policy

Cancellations are required regardless of whether a registration fee has been paid or not. All registration cancellations, changes, and requests for refunds must be submitted and confirmed via CGA’s online registration system on or before August 30, 2022. Refunds are subject to a $50 (USD) processing fee. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after the deadline for any reason.

Substitution Policy

If after registering you are unable to attend the meeting, you may send a substitute. Please notify CGA in writing as soon as possible. Substitutions are allowed for full registrations only.

Hotel Reservations due Monday, August 15, 2022 to receive the CGA rate.

Reservations received after this date will be accepted on a space-available basis and are subject to prevailing room rates.

Reservation Instructions

You will need to call the hotel’s reservations line at 1-418-692-1030/1-800-463-6283 or email (reservation@manoir-victoria.com) the hotel directly to make your reservation. There is no online reservation system. Be sure to state that you are attending the CGA Canada Annual Meeting to receive the CGA group rate of $265 CAD (~$207 US as of 6/10/22) single or double occupancy, per Traditional room, per night, plus applicable taxes, currently ~18.5%.

Please Note: Any requests for special room arrangements must be made at the time of reservation.

Reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card or accompanied by a deposit equal to one-night’s room and taxes. Deposits will be refunded by the hotel for cancellations received by 11:59 p.m. on the day prior to your scheduled arrival.

You will be asked to confirm your check-out date when you arrive at the hotel. Please advise the hotel of any changes at check-in.

Please Note: CGA has contracted with the Hotel Manoir Victoria to set aside a sizeable block of rooms at this discounted rate for meeting registrants. The Association is contractually obligated to fill this room block and may be exposed to significant financial liability should our members fail to support this room block. We appreciate members choosing to stay at the CGA Canada Annual Meeting host hotel. CGA cannot guarantee that rooms will be available after the August 15, 2022 deadline or once the room block is full.

Bruno G. Pollet is a Professor of Chemistry at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR), Director of the UQTR Green Hydrogen Lab, Deputy Director of the UQTR Institute for Hydrogen Research (IHR), Adjunct Professor of Renewable Energy at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), member of the “NTNU Team Hydrogen” (the largest hydrogen R&D cluster in Norway), and President of the Green Hydrogen Division of the International Association for Hydrogen Energy.

Travel Information

Airport Transportation

Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) is approximately 15 kilometers or 10 miles from the Hotel Manoir Victoria in old Quebec. The airport is located approximately 25 minutes’ drive from Quebec City.

Ground Transportation

The Hotel Manoir Victoria does not provide shuttle service from or to the airport. All licensed transportation is located at “Arrivals.”

Several options are available to travel from YQB to Quebec City:

BUS

The local transport company, Reseau de Transport de la Capitale (RTC) connects YQB to downtown Quebec City. The RTC operates from 6:00 AM to 12:30 AM, 7 days a week and leaves every 30 minutes. The fare is $3.10 CAD ($2.39 USD). Tickets can be purchased at vending machines upon arrival. Buses pickup outside of Arrivals.

Cars are located on the ground level of the airport services building, located in the parking lot in front of the YQB terminal. It is connected to the terminal by a walkway.

Note:  Quebec City is very walkable, especially Old Town where Hotel Manoir Victoria is located.

RIDE SHARE – Uber

The Uber pickup location at YQB is the domestic flight arrival hall under the footbridge by columns 13-14. Transfers can be booked on the Uber app in advance or upon arrival. Note:  Lyft does not ‘currently’ operate out of YQB. Canada does operate a local ride share transportation alternative, EVA. Information on this local service can be found at http://eva.coop/#/

TAXI

A taxi from YQB to Old Town Quebec City would take approximately 25 minutes and the estimated taxi fare to the hotel is around $35 CAD or $28 USD.

Canadian Customs and Immigration

A valid passport is required for all visitors at all entry points of access to Canada and is mandatory for all flights within North America. At designated points of entry, visitors may in addition also have the option of presenting an enhanced driver’s license (EDL), NEXUS, SENTRI, Global Entry, or FAST/EXPRES enrollment card. Note:  EDLs and FAST/EXPRES cards are only available for land and marine crossing, not by AIR.

What to Wear

The dress code for CGA meetings is smart/business casual, coat and tie are optional.

Dress for the Awards banquet on Tuesday night is business suit, or coat and tie for men; business or cocktail dress for women.

Indoor meetings and events will be in air-conditioned meeting space, so it is recommended that you bring a light jacket or sweater.
