2022 Hydrogen Takeaways

Throughout the course of the year, CGA staff presented at ten hydrogen conferences, sharing our Safety is Step One message with more than 32,000 conference attendees. Many of these events connected us with audiences well outside of our membership – from fueling station operators, to utility companies, to aviation and aerospace companies.

Publication Spotlight: P-97, Guideline for the Safe Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Cylinders

CGA has recently published a first edition publication P-97, Guideline for the Safe Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Cylinders . Formerly known as S-8, this document dates back to 2007, when the first edition was issued with the title Recommendations to Minimize Hazards of CG-7 Pressure Relief Valves and Ancillary Devices for Liquefied Petroleum Gas Cylinders.

On November 10, 2022, CGA’s Young & Emerging Professionals Committee hosted a webinar titled, Critical Leadership Skills for a Safety and Health Focused Culture. The webinar attracted attendees from across the industry and capped a robust schedule of Young & Emerging Professionals events in 2022.

Standard for Large Insulated Liquid Carbon Dioxide Systems at User Sites (G-6.1)

CGA has released the eighth edition of G-6.1, Standard for Large Insulated Liquid Carbon Dioxide Systems at User Sites. This publication is one of a series compiled by CGA to meet the demand for information on the production, transportation, handling, and storage of carbon dioxide in gaseous, liquid, and solid states.

Event Recap: 2022 Cylinder Requalification Operations Safety Seminar

CGA’s 2022 Cylinder Requalification Operations Safety Seminar was held November 1-3 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The seminar attracted over 100 participants from at least 9 different countries!
This year’s 3-day seminar focused on cylinder requalification, cylinder valves, and regulatory issues.

Event Recap: CGA’s 2022 Safety and Reliability of Industrial Gases, Equipment, and Facilities Seminar

First held in 1962, the Safety and Reliability seminar is CGA’s longest running event of its kind. This year the event, held in Virginia, welcomed more than 60 individuals who listened, learned, networked, and asked questions.

Standards Council of Canada Grants CGA Initial Accreditation

After completing an extensive application process and assessment, SCC granted initial accreditation to CGA as part of its Standards Development Organization Accreditation Program (SDOAP). CGA is now one of only 13 organizations to be accredited by SCC as an SDO.

Greg DeVincentis Honored with IOMA International Harmonization Award

CGA is pleased to congratulate Greg DeVincentis of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. as the recipient of the 2022 IOMA International Harmonization Award! This prestigious award was created by the International Oxygen Manufacturer’s Association (IOMA) Global Committee in 2005 to recognize significant and distinguished service to the international harmonization process.
