Laura Brumsey is the Senior Vice President at the Compressed Gas Association, Inc. (CGA), a leading standards development organization committed to advancing the safe handling, transportation, and use of industrial and medical gases. With more than 17 years of experience in the industrial gases sector, Laura brings deep industry knowledge and a passion for collaboration to her work in standards development.
In her role at CGA, Laura leads a diverse portfolio of technical programs and strategic initiatives that support the creation, harmonization, and adoption of safety standards across a wide range of applications. She thrives on bringing people together to solve complex challenges and is a strong believer in the power of consensus to drive meaningful progress.
Laura serves on the Board of Directors for the Society for Standards Professionals (SES) and is an active contributor to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) community, participating regularly in events and committees that shape the future of standardization. She also holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, reflecting her commitment to excellence in association management.
She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Consumer Studies from Virginia Tech. Outside of work, Laura is actively involved in her local community and enjoys building connections across sectors to strengthen the impact of the standards system. She is committed to fostering a culture of safety, integrity, and shared responsibility in everything she does.
