CGA Sponsors ANSI Hydrogen Standards Coordination Initiative

MCLEAN, VA (Feb. 11, 2026) — The Compressed Gas Association (CGA) announced today that it is
sponsoring the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Hydrogen Standards Coordination Initiative, a national effort to strengthen coordination of safety and technical standards across the hydrogen value chain.

As part of Phase I, ANSI is developing a Hydrogen Standards Landscape—a database of published standards, ongoing standards activities, and relevant guidance documents—supported by stakeholder submissions. ANSI will also host educational webinars on March 16 and March 31 featuring standards and code developers and opportunities for dialogue.

ANSI Request for Information (RFI) — Due March 6, 2026

Standards-developing organizations and stakeholders are invited to complete ANSI’s RFI spreadsheet and submit it to Christine Bernat (cbernat@ansi.org) by March 6, 2026.

“CGA is proud to sponsor this initiative and encourage stakeholders across the hydrogen ecosystem to contribute,” said Laura Brumsey, CGA Senior Vice President. “Better coordination helps reduce duplication, identify gaps, and support safe, consistent deployment.”

ANSI also thanked the initiative’s sponsors: ASTM International, Compressed Gas Association (CGA), and CSA Group.
