Standards Council Call for Nominations

CGA’s Standards Council is seeking nominations for the 2025 – 2028 term. Council members are responsible for reviewing and approving CGA positions, prioritizing publication development and other projects, and managing the resources needed to support committee work. The Council includes representatives from all major gas companies and recognized experts from other active member companies with business interests in the following categories:

  • other gas companies;
  • cylinders;
  • process equipment;
  • valves;
  • regulator (equipment).

Non-major gas company voting representatives serve for 3-year terms, with no limit on the number of consecutive terms that can be served by a voting representative. In accordance with the CGA Committee Guidelines, any active member in good standing may nominate a representative to be considered for Standards Council.

Any active member can nominate a representative by submitting the candidate’s curriculum vitae and a summary statement detailing the individual’s education, technical expertise, relevant industry experience, and CGA participation history. A candidate for a seat on the Standards Council shall be a senior technical and/or safety person within and must have the authority to establish positions on their company’s behalf. All nominations received are reviewed by Standards Council and Council’s recommendation is forwarded to the Executive Committee for final approval.
