Wrapping Up the 2025 YEP Summit: From Safety to the Future of Compressed Gases

Four sessions brought young and emerging professionals together to explore harmonization, safety, transportation, and the innovations shaping tomorrow.

A Month of Learning and Connection

The 2025 Young and Emerging Professionals (YEP) Summit took more than 900 participants on a journey through the many ways compressed gases impact the world around us — and how the next generation of industry leaders can help shape what’s ahead.

Over four sessions, experts and YEPs alike explored the importance of speaking the same language across borders, embedding safety into design, ensuring gases are transported securely, and looking ahead to new markets and technologies.

Key Themes from the Summit

  1. Harmonization matters. Session 1 set the stage with a look at international standards harmonization — why it’s critical for efficiency, safety, and global collaboration, and how YEPs can play a role in breaking down silos.
  2. Safety is by design. Session 2 underscored that safety doesn’t just happen — it’s built in from the start. Speakers highlighted how decades of data and standards shape today’s practices, from PPE to emergency response.
  3. Transportation is the backbone. Session 3 gave a 101-level view into how gases move from plant to customer. Driver training, safety culture, and strict adherence to protocols all ensure these essential products arrive safely every day.
  4. The future is being written now. Finally, Session 4 looked ahead at innovation in hydrogen, CO₂, and specialty gases. Speakers emphasized that YEPs will be key to advancing both safety and technology as the industry expands into new frontiers.

A Look Ahead

The YEP Summit is more than a set of webinars — it’s a platform for connection, learning, and leadership development. This year’s conversations made clear that the compressed gas industry’s future is in good hands, with YEPs eager to engage in standards development, drive innovation, and carry forward a strong safety culture.

Thank you to all who joined us for the 2025 YEP Summit, thank you to our presenters and panelists, and thank you to our sponsor, Weldcoa — we look forward to continuing the conversation and building on the momentum together.
