CGA Advances Hydrogen Safety Through Leadership in Upcoming ANSI Technical Workshop

The Compressed Gas Association (CGA) is playing a key leadership role in the upcoming ANSI Hydrogen Standards Technical Workshop, reinforcing its long standing commitment to advancing the safe and effective use of hydrogen across applications.

CGA worked closely with CSA Group to initially develop and propose the concept for this workshop, recognizing the growing need for coordination, clarity, and strategic planning across the hydrogen codes and standards ecosystem. As part of this effort, CGA has already actively participated in a series of ANSI hosted webinars designed to help stakeholders better understand the current hydrogen standards landscape, including the roles and responsibilities of the various standards developing organizations engaged in this space.

Through these webinars, CGA highlighted its robust library of more than 30 hydrogen related publications, which address safety considerations across production, storage, distribution, and use. These resources reflect decades of technical expertise and industry collaboration and continue to serve as a foundation for hydrogen safety in both emerging and established markets.

CGA looks forward to participating in the upcoming ANSI workshop as an opportunity to engage directly with users of hydrogen standards, gain insight into evolving needs and challenges, and help inform future priorities for hydrogen publication development. The workshop also provides an important forum to identify opportunities for stronger coordination and collaboration among standards organizations, supporting a more aligned, efficient, and safety focused standards framework.

As hydrogen technologies continue to expand, CGA remains committed to contributing its technical expertise and leadership to ensure that standards keep pace with innovation while maintaining the highest levels of safety for industry, regulators, and the public.

CGA members are welcome and encouraged to attend the upcoming ANSI Workshop on June 22-23, 2026 in Washington, D.C. – click here to learn more and register.
