The Compressed Gas Association (CGA) is pleased to announce that Robert Loenhart, Senior Vice-President for Regulatory Affairs and Safety at the Canadian Propane Association, will deliver the keynote address at the 2026 Canada Annual Meeting.
With more than two decades of experience navigating the Canadian regulatory landscape, Loenhart brings a unique perspective on the impact regulations have on industry operations and the critical role industry expertise plays in shaping codes and standards. During his keynote presentation, he will share his professional journey from military service to regulatory leadership, offering insights into the experiences and lessons that have shaped his career.
A strong advocate for industry engagement, Loenhart emphasizes the importance of bringing practical experience and diverse perspectives to the regulatory and code development process. His involvement across numerous industry and government initiatives underscores that commitment. He currently serves as Chair of Transport Canada’s General Policy Advisory Council (GPAC) for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Chair of the Technical Standards and Safety Authority’s (TSSA) Propane Advisory Council, and participates on Canadian Standards Association (CSA) code committees.
His keynote will provide attendees with valuable perspectives on regulatory developments, stakeholder engagement, and the importance of ensuring industry voices are represented where decisions that affect operations and safety are being made.
