CGA’s mission is to promote ever-improving safe, secure, and environmentally responsible manufacture, transportation, storage, transfilling, and disposal of industrial, medical, and food gases and their containers.
The Compressed Gas Association (CGA) is proud to represent a diverse membership of over 165 companies worldwide, ranging from multinational corporations to family-owned businesses. Our members span every corner of the industry, including manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, and transporters of gases, cryogenic liquids, and related equipment. These companies play a critical role in producing and handling industrial, medical, food, and specialty gases in both compressed and liquefied forms.
Compressed gases are the invisible backbone of countless products used in daily life. Collectively, CGA members supply industries that drive 24% of the U.S. gross domestic product. Moreover, every job in our industry generates five additional jobs across the broader economy.
For over 110 years, CGA has been at the forefront of safety, championing the development and implementation of industry standards and best practices. Through a robust committee system of member volunteers, we produce technical guidelines, safety standards, and training resources. We also collaborate closely with government agencies to promote compliance with responsible regulations and standards.
Beyond national borders, CGA partners with other industrial gas associations worldwide to harmonize standards and advance safety on a global scale. Together, we are committed to ensuring the continued safety and reliability of the compressed gas industry.
