Accelerating the Hydrogen Economy through Safety Standards

Some hydrogen industry stakeholders may consider safety standards an impediment to action – a step to take or box to check that brings little value and stifles innovation. But in fact, the opposite is true: safety standards are critical for any industry to grow smoothly and quickly.

As the U.S. Navy SEALs put it, “Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.” The military operates in a high-stakes world, and this expression reminds us that when we slow down and do things right, we ultimately move faster than when we rush.

Safety standards are needed to accelerate growth in the hydrogen vehicle fueling industry. They’re what will enable industry players to grow much faster.

Join us for this informative webinar on May 5, 2022, as Rich Gottwald provides an update on the progress of our Hydrogen “Safety is Step One” campaign first launched in Fall 2021. Rich will share CGA’s perspective on the significant role safety standards will play in helping the hydrogen economy to achieve its enormous potential, including in hydrogen mobility.

Rich Craig will then provide an overview of CGA’s development efforts focused on hydrogen safety standards and educational materials, and will review emerging areas of interest, such as marine and aviation uses of hydrogen. Rich will also discuss CGA’s ongoing efforts to identify, collaborate, and partner with like-minded organizations that are focused on the hydrogen economy, as we endeavor to reach a wider audience with our messages on hydrogen safety.
