Celebrating the CGA & GAWDA Distributor Safety Award Winners

Since 2011, CGA has partnered with the Gases and Welding Distributors Association (GAWDA) to promote a focus on safety and adherence to best practices. Participants in the Distributor Safety Program get a wide range of resources including access to CGA’s 340+ safety publications, a growing library of eLearning modules, safety posters for gas facilities and end users, and educational programs. This year, more than 100 GAWDA distributor members participated in the program, providing safety resources to over 770 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Participating distributor members are also eligible for the Distributor Safety Award, which recognizes the greatest improvement in personnel safety performance over a five-year period. The individual company data submitted by GAWDA members is kept confidential, and the aggregate results are used to monitor overall industry safety trends. In the last 10 years, participants in the Distributor Safety Program have demonstrated a significant reduction in recordable injuries as well as a decline in lost workday cases.
The award is presented in two categories based on the submitting company’s total number of employee exposure hours. The winning companies were recognized at the GAWDA Annual Convention in San Diego, California on October 8, 2022 and will also be recognized at the 2023 CGA Annual Meeting.
