During April 2019, the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) issued the following new and/or revised safety standards, guidelines, and position statements:
E-12 – Standard for Safety Devices Used in Gas Welding, Cutting, and Allied Processes
Released: April 11, 2019 (2nd Edition)
This publication provides specifications, definitions, and performance tests for hose line safety devices for systems and equipment using fuel gases and oxygen or compressed air for welding, cutting, and allied processes. Gives users an overview of the available types of safety devices and their function.
PS-50 – CGA Position Statement on Food Gases and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO)
Released: April 24, 2019 (2nd Edition)
This publication answers the following question:
“Do food gases in high pressure or liquid containers contain genetically modified organisms at a level exceeding the food industry generally accepted threshold maximum level of 0.9% (w/w) as identified by some government bodies, which would invoke a requirement for labeling regarding the GMO material content?”
P-54 – Guideline for Enhancing Security Culture
Released: April 24, 2019 (1st Edition)
A comprehensive security culture continuously evolves to protect company assets, manage and mitigate risks, and facilitate business objectives.
